Wow! I had know idea a book could bring out so many emotions in me! I feel like I have been picked up and shook until I can't keep my head from spinning! If you are someone that likes books on the darker side this is it! Just when I feel like I have a handle on Jethro, Pepper sends me into such heartbreak I am shaking. I think Nila is one of the strongest female characters I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know through an author. How she survives this second debt is incredible! How Jethro could take part in it is something I can't wrap my mind around. I want to say so much but the book is so full of emotions I don't want to give any of it away. Oh how I wish I found this series after completion. I don't think I can stand the wait! Oh My! If this is making me anxious, what must Nila be going through waiting for THE THIRD DEBT! Take my advise and get all three and begin a journey I don't think I will ever forget Pepper! You deserve many more than 5 stars for this book!

Nila Weaver falls in love with Jethro Hawk her "owner" and soon to be murderer. She wants to kill the entire family but how. She ends up hating her father for not telling her about the debt. She understands that the way the Hawks are handling the past involving the future is barbaric and in a way so does Jethro, Jasmine, and Kesler Hawk but yet they all go along with the torment. The entire family is sick. She has an opportunity to flee but doesn't do anything and her family came for her she did not want to go because supposedly she wants to fix Jethro. Reality check Nila!! HE HAS NO BACKBONE and his allegiance is to his sick demented family and obviously not you. She has a cell phone which I'm sure has GPS which she could text her twin brother where she is so that he can come to save her. But nothing happens yet she stays to get fkd and be fkd at the end. Jethro has a sickness which is by no means a sickness at all. He is compassionate, loving, romantic, and sweet but his father and grandmother wants a ruthless, heartless, and cold son/grandson to carry on the legacy and keep torturing the Weavers for centuries to come. So in order to cope he instills pain by cutting the soles of his feet and his father does other unmentionables to him. His father hates everyone except money. The entire family fortune is based on smuggling diamonds and selling them in the black market. The entire family is petrified of Cut Hawk (the father) and supposedly they own many government officials and that is how they can get away with killing so many Weaver women and burying them in their estate.
This is not even the last book there is another book and I'm not sure how many debts has to be paid before Nila dies. I'm still reading because I want to finish the series but otherwise this is a mess of a story. She is still a good writer. I don't know whose worst off Nila for not wanting escape or me for keep reading.

Some books are light hearted, funny, and easy to follow and understand. Second Debt is not one of those books. It’s dark, tragic, heartbreaking, complex, and will leave you brain an addled mess. The emotional and physical journey that Jethro and Nina embark on in the series is enough to make even the most experienced readers shiver, tingle, cringe, curse, rage, and shake their heads. Controlled by so much more than their feelings, and desires, they battle each other for survival. Their souls, hearts, and lives depend on how well they are able to bury and hide their truest natures. Jethro has survived within the Hawk family for one reason, and one reason only. He hides his true self behind a façade of ice. Nina is surviving the repaying of the heinous debts by going into battle mode. She is determined to be smarter, stronger, and braver than any of her Weaver women ancestors before her. Nina has sworn she will be the last in her families’ bloodline to pay for the sins of the past. What neither of them could have expected, is the connection, compassion, and chemistry that would bind them for the rest of their lives, however long that may be.

This series has officially become my addiction. I’ve become obsessed with discovering how this story will end, what will become of Nina and Jethro? How much worse can the debts owed be? What will happen to the Hawk family when defiance becomes known? What will the Weaver family sacrifice for one of their own?

The writing in this third book is now no way less perfect than its predecessors. Even with the dark, disturbing, and sometimes terrifying storyline, this novel is beautiful, erotic, electrifying. This book pushed my boundaries as a reader, and then blew past them. Some of the scenes terrified me, tantalized me, and more than I few made me really think, I mean stop and really think. I was emotionally and mentally exhausted by the time I finished this third book, only exasperated by the MASSIVE CLIFFY, at the end. I NEED ANSWERS! I’m going to be waiting with baited breath for the next book, I cannot wait to climb back into this world, revisit the characters and hopefully, finally get some clues as to how this may play out in the end.
