In his youth Billy Jake Boone commonly referred to as B.J. was highly admired and there was no doubt in anyone's mind that he had a bright future before him. He was from a prominent farm family that owned thousands of acres of land, which provided him the opportunity to enjoy many benefits that an average young man could only dream about a college education, his own car, motorcycle, and flying lessons; in preparation to fly his own future Piper Cub. A spending allowance also provided him the opportunity to travel and eventually acquire some dangerous habits. This was in the years immediately following World War II, and for the majority of the folks in Western Tennessee, times were tough.
That bright future might have been achieved if B.J. had not acquired a taste for an excessively hedonistic lifestyle. This lifestyle placed him in conflict with another young man named Billy Ray Jenkins, of far lesser means from the same community; who had himself succumbed to the passionate desire for the better things in life.
This conflict between Billy Jake Boone, son of a wealthy land owner and Billy Ray Jenkins, the son of a share cropper, eventually provided them with parity and something in common.................. they were both murdered.

I found this book to have just the right amount of historical facts to keep your interest.Great read ,not too long. Left me wanting to know what would happen next every time I put it down. Just the right amount of intrigue,drama ,humor and mystery. Billy Jake could be the guy in anyones nieghborhood.Interesting characters ,felt like you knew them. Maybe we do!!!! I hope we haven't seen the last of Western Tennessee gave me a new insite into that part of the country.I can't wait to read more by this Author!!Product details

Greatly enjoyed reading this book. Great characters and the author did a wonderful job introducing them all to the reader. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't wait to see what would happen next. My only complaint is that the book has ended. I hope this author shares more of his writing with us; would love to read what other stories he has.
Great story telling. I felt like the people and area were real and I came to care about them and their story. Highly recommended! Looking forward to more from this author.
