I LOVE Cody and Chelsea. They are the atypical couple and show us how it can be done! Cody is a cocky baseball phenom. When he arrives at the big league from the minors he is a cocky guy on the outside but nervous as heck on the inside. The coach makes a big mistake and throws him in to save the game as his first play. Despite throwing a 102 mph fastball...the guy hits it out of the park. Cody's adoring fans turn fickle and become a jeering horde.Paris is engaged to Robby, another player of the Warriors and Chelsea's best friend. Chelsea is a beautiful and brilliant video game designer who lives in her own little world.Trying to meet a deadline for a new game she becomes even more introverted. Wow, loved Cody in this baseball story, the typical one nighter until he meets Chelsea❤️. She was determined to not give in to his flirty ways, until she couldn't any longer!! Now you'll have to read this story, to find out how convincing Cody was/ could be, and Chelsea caved or not. Laughter, funny, jealousy, vindictive, mean girls, love, compassion, romance, beautiful story, how true love prevails😊!
Cody Wright has just been called up from the minors to the Oklahoma City Warriors. The son of a famous MLB player, Cody is cocky, arrogant and ready to play, and not only on the ball diamond.
Chelsea is an app designer of kids games. She is struggling to come up with her next concept to please her investors. Invited to a Warriors game by her best friend Paris, who happens to be engaged to a player, she gets her first glimpse of Cody Wright.
Fantastic read full of great characters, witty banter, a crazy ex and hot hot scenes. Received arc for a honest review.
I was eager to read this book, however, my eagerness waned after the first chapter. The dialogue was very stilted and the smack talk between the guys felt forced like the author isn't around guys in groups or maybe has never really heard it. The female protagonists had a really cool personality and then the author mismatched her with someone who giggled. A lot. The male protagonist was cheesy with all of the baby girl, baby, gorgeous, and he loved the word titties. It could have been a good book had the characters been taken serious in the creating.
Please read this book. Its a great read. I read it in two sittings because I had to go back to work but if I would have had time I would have read straight. Love that the right girl gets the guy. Enjoyed the characters. Loved the story line. KB Winters hit it out of the ballpark. Way to go.
Cody Wright comes up from the minors to pitch for the Warriors. Coach puts him in the game at the last minute and his pitch let's the batter hit it out of the park. Not good. Fans turn sour on him and are not too happy. Paris is engaged to Robby, another player on the team and she is friends with Chelsea who is a video game designer. Paris forces Chelsea to go to a game and as they say the rest is history! Great transformation for Cody and for Chelsea, get the book and see for yourself. Recommend!
Cody is a cocky yet suave gentleman and Chelsea is a smart, witty, independent woman. Both easy to like and easy to root for.
However, the last thing Chelsea is thinking about is a man in her life. She's a coder working on her next game, a self proclaimed nerd, and definitely a workaholic. A man does not fit in there anywhere. Especially a smooth talking player (also an actual baseball player) like Cody Wright. She can't tell if he's just up for a challenge because she wants nothing to do with him or does he really like her. Its also hard for her to admit that she can't stop thinking about him. Maybe a drive by, one time hook up will settle both of their problems. But not so much...it only complicates everything, of course.
This was fun and sexy with a few complications here and there - some a little too coincidental and a little far fetched - but it was a good read. The story moved along so fluidly that I totally lost track of time and read it almost all at once. If it hadn't been the middle of the night I probably would've finished it all!
<I can't give this a full five stars even though I had a lot of fun because there were too many ticky-tack errors that bothered me. Extra editing/proofreading for things like spelling, weird use/over use of punctuation, and continuity of clothing, time, and space was needed. My ultimate pet peeve reared its ugly head once towards the end of the book the your/you're mess. I almost lost it but I really liked this story (& it was almost over) so I took a deep breath and moved on. I'm sure it was probably due to an autocorrect in the formatting or something. Also, major league pitchers don't pitch every game day after day but it makes it better for the story so...you know...>
